i had so much work to do before easter that i actually missed the launch of swedish hasbeens for h&m.
i could have kicked my ass.
today after work i walked into the h&m store nearby the gedächtniskirche. only 150 h &m shops all over the world selled the four different kinds of hasbeens that have been exclusively designed for them, therefore i was most delighted when i found one last pair in my size of the red shoes that i fancied. aren't they dope?

seit gefühlten 20 monaten (tatsächlich sind es erst 2,5) kaufe ich nun schon keinen nagellack mehr.
nachdem meine freunde mich bereits schräg angesehen haben, wenn ich mit der 75. und 76. flasche dieser oder jener limited editition ankam, platzte ich voreilig heraus: "es ist keine sucht, ich kann mir auch einfach mal keinen nagellack kaufen.."
tja, leichtfertig dahingesagt. so schwor ich, bis juni (!!!) keinen lack mehr mit nach hause zu nehmen. geschenke sind natürlich erlaubt.
die ersten paar wochen waren leicht, doch nun habe ich mich mehrfach dabei ertappt, wie ich mit großen augen im douglas vor dem OPI counter stehe oder spätabends in online-shops umherstreuner und seufze und den coursor schon fast auf den 'kaufen'-button bewege.
noch über einen monat!!!
ich brauche meine dosis!

i have some new stuff in my bathroom. two chanel rouge coco shines.

colours 'monte carlo' and 'boy'.

i wanted a fresh red shiny lipstick with a cherry tone and found it in 'monte carlo'. a friend of mine showed me her shiny dusky pink coco shine 'boy' and well, i needed it. and i got it. love the smell and it mosturizes really good.

everybody is talking about moroccanoil. its' base is argan oil. there's a large variety
of products by now but i'm talking about the original moroccanoil hair treatment.
after washing your hair, you put a tiny drop of the oil into your hair. then you blow it
dry or let it air dry. i must say, i am pretty convinced by this product. my hair is very
dry and quite damaged by my whole 'blondes have more fun hysteria'. after using the
oil, it's soft, shiny and the smell of it is absolutely adorable. at first the price seems quite
high, but considering that you really only need a tiny little drop, the price is reasonable
again. my favourite product of the month!

and another new thing i got is the korres eye makeup remover...
it's very mild and therefore good for my sensitive eyes. i am a huge fan of korres
cosmetics. nevertheless, i am not too convinced about this stuff. doesn't take off
the mascara very easily. especially when you have several layers on like i do.

yesterday it was a real warm day here in berlin. 24 °C and i start to fancy bright fresh citrus and lemony colours on my fingers.
this almost neon orange tone is wonderful if you combine it with a camel and sand tones and gold accessories like rings or necklaces.
a touch of a warm pink rouge on your cheek and you're ready to go.

i have the best friends. after almost a week of sickness and staying in bed, one helped me with phonecalls and potatoes and carrots. she even watched 'night of the living dead' with me, although she hates that kind of movies.
the other one spoiled me with presents.
he didn't even know that i've been sneaking around the MAC wonder woman stuff till days. but he must have felt it. lovely, huh?

i have to confess that i don't even really know where that comes from (except from the chocolate and flower industry).
nevertheless i found it quite heartwarming that many people wished me a happy valentine's day today. even people i didn't know on the street or in the gym.
i tried to spread as much love as possible as well.
and i think, everybody should and not only today.
it is so simple.

yesterday i made a promise and my friend efimia witnessed it.
i promised that i won't buy anymore nailpolish until june of this year (which doesn't mean, i can't receive nailpolish gifts).
my fridge is already filled to the max.
really, i think it's not even an obsession anymore. it's an addiction. i even had a slight feeling of panic when i said: 'yes, no more polish till june.'

once i started thinking about movies that mean something to me, i couldn't stop. more and more films came to my mind. films that taught me things about life. films that i love for many years.
i might just see one single image or hear a song from the soundtrack and i'm back in a certain period of my life which was accompanied by a certain film.
i remember watching 'la boum' when i was really really young. about seven i think. and i fell in love with pierre cosso. today, i would rather go for a guy like mathieu but back then i preferred the greasy guys, i guess.
when i watched 'rear window' i was so impressed, i started to act out the scenes with my barbies and kens and a lovely playmobil dollhouse.
i remember watching 'dirty dancing' at my neighbours' house. i had two girlfriends living there who where 3 and 4 years older than me. i was 11 and not allowed to watch it yet (i think, my mum didn't want me to be confronted with the abortion topic. or with patrick swayze's ass. there's one second where you can actually see it and my girls and me paused the movie again and again in that very second and couldn't stop giggling).
i always loved hitchcock movies, i started with 'the birds', i think, but i didn't watch 'rebecca' until last year. i read the book first and my friend efimia told me i just HAD to watch the movie. true! i think, it's his masterpiece.
and i think, it was due to the movie 'the parent trap' which is based on erich kästner's book 'das doppelte lottchen' that i wanted to become an actress. also, i was totally fascinated by maureen o'haras tapering breast not knowing that was due to the weird bras they had at the end of the fifties. oh, how i loved their style anyways. (i was about 8 when i first watched it)
yes, so here i am again remiscing about great films that were and still are a part of my life!

today after work, i felt a little dull and weak due to a stomach flu that is finally about to leave (for good, i hope) and i decided i need a little treat. and i found it! this amazing treasure by nails inc.
my fridge is already bursting cause there's over 70 nail polishes inside. that's why i decided i will only keep three of them and give the rest away to friends.
in germany it's quite hard to get that stuff. i was lucky to find it at tk maxx. you can also mailorder via qvc. oh, and one asset was surely the privce of 20 €!!! i'm in heaven!

all the colours are named after streets in london. as i LOVE london, that's surely another little detail making me excited about the box. i decided to definitely keep "monmouth street" (first one left at the top), "all saints road" (first one right at the top) and "welbeck street" (bottom, middle).

my favourite beauty products 2010 - the makeup.

MAC 'Jubilee' - a wonderful nude colour that's so natural that you can easily wear it every day. also, it was my first MAC lipstick, so i guess i'll always have a special connection to it ;)

CHANEL blush for cheeks 'brume d'or'. i especially like it in autumn and wintertime for summer it's too reddish i think. when you put it on, you look like you just had a quick run through the summer rain or like you are about meet the guy you've always dreamed to have a date with.

the clinique supermoisture makeup is amazing for dry/sensitive skin. i love the smell, because it doesn't smell at all- like all clinique products. i really have a perfume overdose. almost every cosmetic stuff you buy is fragranced and i find it very refreshing if something is not. my perfect colour is n° 6 - neutral, but i'm sure they have something for every skin tone (i'm very fair).


as you know, i am crazy about nailpolish and i tried very hard to find my favourite among my huge collection... but i can't. i love them all and i have one for every mood. but i can surely say that i like the OPI and essie polishes most.

and last but not least my all time favourite:

it's a classic. the YSL touche éclat. i use concealer since i was 14 years old. i need it and since i WAS a smoker for some years i needed it even more. i tried many concealers but none was as convincing as this one. expensive, yes (33 €). but worth it. i always buy a double pack in a duty free shop once a year when i go on summer holiday and this package lasts for about 12 months. when you buy a double pack at the airport in spain, it costs about 52 €. GOOD STUFF!

before the new year has entirely arrived in the conciousness, i want to give you a quick review of my favourite beauty products 2010. products i used almost every day or at least several times a week.


the clinique eye makeup remover is just gorgeous. i don't always buy it because it's pretty expensive (around 18 €) but it's really good for sensitive eyes. even waterproof eye makeup comes of in a wink. also good for longlasting lipstick. love it.

i love this stuff on my lips. burt's bees lipbalm! know it from my stay in canada years ago, rediscovered it in london. in germany you sometimes have a chance to grab it at TK MAXX or at some douglas stores (around 4 €). at douglas the sometimes even have the colour tinted ones. it's with beeswax and peppemint and gives you the "i just got my lips pumped up at the doctors"-effect. well, at least that's how i imagine it to be! i gave 5 of them away as an extra gift for christmas and everybody who got one just loves it!

KORRES!! I! LOVE! THEIR! STUFF! my greek friend efimia introduced me to it and now i am addicted!! i love a lot of it but one of my all time faves is the FIG BODY SCRUB (around 16 €). it smells so absolutely gorgeous and leaves your skin soft soft soft!


the color conserve hair products by aveda. i just love their unique smell and the are good for my hair.

i bought this colour almost a year ago, but it's still one of my favourites.
mint candy apple by essie.
the good thing about this polish is, you can wear it in the winter. but it's also a fabulous summer colour.

heute war ich in der neuen nationalgalerie.
und zusätzlich hat es zum ersten mal seit langem, sehr langem geregnet.
ich wurde vom regengeräusch auf dem dach über meinem bett geweckt. fühlte sich nicht richtig an.
ich hätte lieber noch mehr schnee.
ich schätze, das hat mich zu # 3 inspiriert.

as i draw or paint into a small black sketch book and my little pictures probably don't deserve the label "painting" yet, i decided that at the end of the year i will actually paint the sketches i like most onto canvas. that will be fun.
but we'll see how far i get. i am actually quite proud of myself that i already made it to day 3 and # 3.
made my day.

i never ever have made any new year resolutions. but this year it all seems to be a bit different.
besides the fact that i just decided to start drawing and painting on a regular basis again, i just signed up for the '100 books in a year reading challenge 2010'.

i guess, i am somehow longing for some kind of "entschleunigung" in my private life. sorry, i have no idea what the english word for this can be. i'd love to step back. take some time for myself. breathe. inhale. exhale. leave the technical stuff outside.
can't wait to see if i can manage to read over 8 books a month from now on.
i'll start with truman capote, who i adore. 'summer crossing' - his first novel written in 1943.

KORRES has three new fragrances. arne, a friend gave me this one. it is absolutely wonderful. sweet yet spicy. smells a lot like summer by the sea underneath a pine tree forest.

clinique turnaround concentrate - my mum decieded i need to start some anti aging action. ok, why not?
